GCHA appoints new CEO to lead next phase of growth
Bukky McGlynn has been appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer of GCHA, to lead the housing association in its next phase of growth as it nears its 60th anniversary in 2024.
Bukky is currently Interim Head of Operations at SW9 Community Housing in Brixton, and was previously the CEO at Housing Pathways. She will replace the current CEO Joe Scullion on 26 July.
Chair of the GCHA board, Steve Harriott, said: “I’m delighted to welcome Bukky as our new CEO. She will build on the great work done by Joe Scullion, who has decided to retire. In 2024 we will celebrate our first 60 years and Bukky’s role will be to help us grow and develop into the future.”
Speaking about her appointment, Bukky said: “I am really pleased to be joining Gravesend Churches Housing Association at such an exciting time. I am looking forward to working with the team, residents and partners to deliver high quality social housing and collaborative community services.”
GCHA has been providing affordable homes in Kent since it was established as Gravesend Churches Housing Association in 1964.
It was formed that year by members of local churches who recognised the need for more affordable rented housing in the area.
GCHA now manages 600 properties in Gravesham, Dartford and Maidstone and its portfolio is growing, with new developments underway across Kent.
