Property Condition Surveys
GCHA will conduct property condition surveys between mid-April and June 2024. These surveys are part of our ongoing commitment to maintaining the quality and safety of the homes we manage.
The condition surveys, conducted by the independent surveying company Faithorn Farrell Timms (FFT), are crucial for assessing the current state of our properties.
This allows us to ensure that all homes meet our high standards of safety and comfort. The information gathered will also help in planning long-term maintenance and budgeting, ensuring that your homes remain secure and comfortable for years to come.
What to Expect?
FFT will contact residents with specific survey dates and details in the coming weeks. Appointments will last 15 to 45 minutes, depending on the property size. During this time, surveyors will need access to all rooms, including lofts and external areas, but rest assured, no furniture will need to be moved.
All FFT surveyors will carry a photographic ID and a letter of authority from GCHA for your security. We encourage you to verify their identities before allowing access to your property.
How to Prepare and Participate?
- Schedule Your Appointment: Once you receive notification from FFT, please get in touch with them using the details provided to arrange a convenient time for your survey. If the proposed time does not suit you, alternative dates will be available.
- Survey Day: Ensure that all areas of your home are accessible to the surveyor. If you have specific safety preferences, such as wearing masks, please communicate your requirements to the surveyor upon their arrival.
- Photographs: Surveyors will take photographs of main components like bathrooms, kitchens, and heating appliances to validate the survey data. These photos are essential for prioritising future investments and maintenance work.
